BREAKING NEWS: Five Jamaican Athletes Fail Drug Tests......LOL i knew it
Asafa Powell's agent has revealed he failed a drugs test |
He said: "The process of the result management has commenced in accordance with the JADCO anti-doping rules.
"We cannot disclose any further information until the athletes have responded to notification of the 'A' sample."
Sprinter Asafa Powell was revealed to be one of the athletes after his management company confirmed he had failed a drugs test.
Tyson Gay revealed he had tested positive for an unknown |
The 30-year-old has won gold medals in the 4x100m relay at the Olympics and World Championships and is a former world record holder.
Sources told Reuters that two of the athletes were sprinters while three competed in field events. They added that one of the athletes was a junior.
Last month, Jamaica's most successful female athlete Veronica Campbell-Brown tested positive for a diuretic, which can be used to mask the use of performancing-enhancing drugs.
The twice Olympic 200 metres champion has been suspended by the Jamaican Athletics Administrative Association pending the outcome of a disciplinary panel hearing.
It comes after former double sprint world champion Tyson Gay announced on Sunday that he had tested positive for a substance he could not identify and was withdrawing from next month's world championships in Moscow.
The American, who had the year's fastest 100 metre time of 9.75 seconds, said he was notified by the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) on Friday that his A sample from an out-of-competition test on May 16 had returned a positive.
He said: "I don't have a sabotage story. I don't have lies... I basically put my trust in someone and I was let down.
"I made a mistake."

'Voodoo Prostitution Ring': Police Arrest Six
A Nigerian gang forced women into street prostitution in Spain by burning them with irons and using voodoo rituals, according to police.
Detectives have arrested six Nigerian nationals - including the suspected woman ringleader - as part of an investigation launched last year after one of the prostitutes filed a complaint with the authorities.
"The control exercised over women was total, involving verbal threats as well as physical violence and various voodoo ceremonies to terrorise them," police said in a statement.
"The ring caused them serious injury through bites or by using an iron to cause second-degree burns."
The ring allegedly recruited women in Benin City, a run-down Nigerian port, whose husbands and fathers had died and who were struggling to raise their children.
They transported the women overland to Morocco and then smuggled them on small wooden boats into Spain where they were forced to work as street prostitutes in Barcelona and Malaga.
Spanish police have swooped several times in recent years on similar prostitution rings that used the threat of voodoo curses to frighten their victims into obedience.
Before leaving Nigeria, the rings often take their victims to shrines where they swear to pay their debts to the group and not to denounce them to the police.
The women leave fingernails, hair, underwear and other personal items at the shrines which they are told will give voodoo priests the power to harm them wherever they are in the world.

Woolwich Terror Murder Suspect is a Nigerian descent
Dozens of weapons - including a number of knives - and pools of blood could be seen on the ground in John Wilson Street, where a man said to be wearing a Help for Heroes T-shirt was attacked by two men.
Witnesses say the pair appeared to deliberately drive their car at the victim, before getting out with various bladed weapons and launching their attack.
Two suspected Muslim fanatics attacked the man in the street a short distance from the Royal Artillery Barracks after apparently knocking him down with their car.
Witnesses said they set about the soldier with a number of weapons, which appeared to include knives and a meat cleaver, while shouting the name of "Allah".
They apparently encouraged passers-by to video them. One of the alleged attackers was filmed wielding a bloodied meat cleaver, saying: "We must fight them as they fight us. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.
"I apologise that women have had to witness this today, but in our land our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your government, they don't care about you," he said.
One of the two terror suspects being held under armed guard at hospitals in London has been named by Sky sources as Michael Adebolajo.
Adebolajo is a 28-year-old Londoner of Nigerian descent.
"He was born in Lambeth, grew up in east London. There are still members of his family living in the area.

Mononucleosis disease aka Kissing disease
* You’re most likely to get mononucleosis as a teen or young adult.
The symptoms include: * Feeling crazy tired and weak, having a sore throat, a fever, swollen glands in your armpits and neck, a headache, and more.
Treatment * There’s no medication that can make mononucleosis go away faster. All you can do is rest and drink tons of fluids to flush out that nasty virus.
* In super rare cases, having mono could make your spleen burst open (youch!). If you know you’ve got the virus, and you feel a sharp pain all of a sudden on the left side of your rib cage, call your doctor immediately.
* The good news is that once you’ve had mononucleosis, you can’t get it again.
Breast sex ;) women have needs too!
Spice Girl
Dab a little cinnamon leaf oil (or cinnamon oil mixed with a couple drops of olive oil) onto your nipples and then ask your man to blow on them for a pleasurable tingly feeling.
Wet & Wild
While your man is watching, stroke yourself south of the border and then massage your own natural lubrication onto your bare breasts.
Going Grey
Nipple clamps are one of the kinkiest sex toy out there. Not only do they look wickedly erotic, they also render your nips ultra sensitive, so even the slightest touch feels intense. That, in turns, causes you to react extra passionately to whatever he does, making him feel like a sex superstar. Everybody wins!
Play Dress Up
Not really into the whole S&M thing? Pasties are a slightly tamer way to sex up your rack. There are a ton of hot options out there, like these sexy twinsets.
Dessert Time
Put a dollop of whipped cream on one of the girls, and caramel sauce on the other. Have him lick them in succession to get the full taste sensation. (Another yummy combo to try: chocolate sauce and Kahlua.)
Hot Shot
Have him gently massage your girls with lube or lotion, and then slide his penis back and forth between them. (You can push your breasts together to create a tighter fit.)
Cups Runneth Over
Leave your bra on during girl-on-top sex. At a particularly intense moment, pull down the fabric to expose your cleavage. They'll pouf up and spill over the underwire support.
Ice, Ice Baby
Have him put a few ice chips in his mouth and then suck on your breasts. The temperature tease of hot tongue plus the cold ice makes your twins ultra sensitive, and triggers your nipples to hyperextend—a crazy-sexy visual.
Honey, Honey
Drizzle honey from your breasts to your belly button. Then blindfold him and dare him to find him the sweet treat using only his tongue.
Show Time In cowgirl position, play with your breasts (or have him fondle them) to amplify the sensations you feel there while also giving him an eyeful. A few techniques to try: Pinch your nipples and roll them between your fingertips. Use the pad of your finger to rotate them in circles. Rapidly tweak and release them. Lift and squeeze each breast, and then push them together. Lean forward to dangle them over his chest, increasing blood flow to your nipples. Rub them in his face, and let him taste a nipple.

Sunday prayers!
O God, you are my God,
for you I long;
for you my soul is thristing.
I long for you
like dry, weary land without water.
Give me your strength and your glory.I wish to praise you all my life
fill my soul as with a banquet.
I cling to you;
hold me close in your hands.
Psalm 63
"Whoever drinks the water I give will never be thirsty;
no, the water I give shall become a fountain within him,
leaping up to provide eternal life."
The woman said to him, "Give me this water, sir,
so that I shall not grow thirsty...."
Jn 4:14-15
--by your precious blood we are saved.
You promised living waters to those who seek the truth,
--give us that water to quench our thirst.
You sent disciples to announce the Good News to all people,
--sustain those who proclaim your word.
To those who carry your cross today in anguish,
--grant patience and courage.

Toilet paper shortage in Venezuelans
Venezuelans have been hit by a chronic toilet paper shortage leading to empty supermarket shelves and long queues to snap up the remaining rolls.
When new stocks arrive at supermarkets customers have been rushing in to fill their trollies.
The country is used to a scarcity of basic food items such as milk and sugar but even by the country’s usual standards the toilet paper shortage has caused considerable consumer panic.
One 70-year-old woman said she had been trying to find toilet rolls for two weeks before locating a few rolls in a supermarket in Caracas. Maria Rojas said: "Even at my age, I've never seen this."
Another customer in the same supermarket, Maria Perez, said: "Here there's a shortage of everything - butter, sugar, flour." But, she added: "There always used to be toilet paper."
President Nicolas Maduro, who was chosen by the dying Hugo Chavez to carry on running the country and won April’s election, claims it is a conspiracy to destabilise the country.
However, the government has agreed to import an extra 50 million toilet rolls to cope with demand.
His Commerce Minister Alejandro Fleming said "excessive demand" for tissue had built up due to a "media campaign that has been generated to disrupt the country."
He said monthly consumption of toilet paper was normally 125 million rolls, but current demand "leads us to think that 40 million more are required."
"We will bring in 50 million to show those groups that they won't make us bow down," he said.
Economists say Venezuela's shortages of some consumer products stem from price controls meant to make basic goods available to the poorest parts of society and the government's controls on foreign currency.
Steve Hanke, professor of economics at Johns Hopkins University in the US, said: "State-controlled prices - prices that are set below market-clearing price - always result in shortages. The shortage problem will only get worse, as it did over the years in the Soviet Union."
But economic theory does little to help those down to their last few sheets.
"I've been looking for it for two weeks," Cristina Ramos said at one store. "I was told that they had some here and now I'm in the queue."
Many factories operate at half capacity because the currency controls make it hard for them to pay for imported parts and materials.
Male baldness Vs Coronary Heart Disease (CHD)
Male baldness linked to risk of coronary heart disease, research claims
"Researchers in Japan who examined six previous studies from Europe and America of the link between baldness and CHD, comprising 36,990 men, found that five of the studies confirmed an association." TheGuardian
This was a of meta-analysis of observational studies that estimated the association between male pattern baldness (or androgenetic alopecia) and coronary heart disease (CHD). The authors report that several studies have identified an association between these two factors, and this research sought to combine the results from multiple studies to establish the overall risk.
CHD is the most common cause of death among men in the UK. In CHD the arteries that pump blood to the heart become narrow. This narrowing occurs when fatty material builds up within the artery walls. If the arteries become too narrow, the heart does not receive enough oxygen-rich blood, which causes chest pain known as angina. This narrowing can escalate to the point that the artery is blocked, which can cause a heart attack, where the lack of oxygen-rich blood causes permanent damage to the heart.
As this was a meta-analysis of observational studies, it can only provide information on the association between baldness and CHD, and cannot say why they are associated or if one causes the other.
This analysis took into account (controlled for) some known risk factors for CHD, including:
- age
- smoking status
- family history of the condition
Most importantly, baldness is not something you can do much about, even if the results of this meta-analysis are confirmed. Making lifestyle changes is a more effective way of reducing risk of CHD. These include:
- quitting smoking if you smoke
- losing weight if you are overweight or obese
- increasing the amount of physical activity you do
