Woolwich Terror Murder Suspect is a Nigerian descent

Dozens of weapons - including a number of knives - and pools of blood could be seen on the ground in John Wilson Street, where a man said to be wearing a Help for Heroes T-shirt was attacked by two men.

Witnesses say the pair appeared to deliberately drive their car at the victim, before getting out with various bladed weapons and launching their attack.

Two suspected Muslim fanatics attacked the man in the street a short distance from the Royal Artillery Barracks after apparently knocking him down with their car.

Witnesses said they set about the soldier with a number of weapons, which appeared to include knives and a meat cleaver, while shouting the name of "Allah".

They apparently encouraged passers-by to video them.  One of the alleged attackers was filmed wielding a bloodied meat cleaver, saying:  "We must fight them as they fight us. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.

"I apologise that women have had to witness this today, but in our land our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your government, they don't care about you," he said.

One of the two terror suspects being held under armed guard at hospitals in London has been named by Sky sources as Michael Adebolajo.

Adebolajo is a 28-year-old Londoner of Nigerian descent.

"He was born in Lambeth, grew up in east London. There are still members of his family living in the area.

Oklahoma Tornado: At Least 20 Children Dead

One of the strongest tornadoes ever recorded has ripped through Oklahoma City, killing at least 51 people - 20 of them children - and destroying everything in its path.

The ferocious tornado flattened entire neighbourhoods in the southern suburb of Moore with winds of up to 200 mph, rendering thousands of people homeless, leaving buildings on fire and landing a direct blow to a school.

Several children were pulled alive from the wreckage of Plaza Towers Elementary School after the devastating, mile-wide tornado reduced the building to heaps of rubble and twisted metal.

Rescuers passed the children down a "human chain" to get them to medical personnel for treatment.

A second elementary school, Briarwood, was also hit but did not appear to have sustained casualties. Moore's hospital was also badly damaged.

Emergency crews pledged to work through the night across the city to look for survivors, amid reports that another, smaller, storm was on its way to the town of 55,000 people.

Officials at two hospitals said they were treating more than 140 patients, including around 70 children. Dozens of people were said to be in a critical condition.

A state of emergency has already been declared for 16 Oklahoma counties due to the tornado threat on Sunday, and added five more on Monday after the storms hit the state capital.

 The National Weather Service gave the twister a preliminary EF-4 classification - on a five-point scale - with winds up to 200mph. 

Weather service meteorologist Kelsey Angle said fewer than 1% of all tornadoes ever reach EF-4 or EF-5 levels.

The same suburb was hit hard by a tornado in 1999. That storm had the distinction of producing the highest winds ever recorded near the Earth's surface of up to 302 mph.

This part of the country is known as "tornado alley" and residents are trained in how to take shelter. Most towns and cities are equipped with storm sirens that can warn of a coming tornado half an hour before it hits.

* The good news is that once you’ve had mononucleosis, you can’t get it again.

Winning Ticket For $590m Jackpot :Powerball

One winning ticket was sold in Florida for the record Powerball jackpot of around $590m (£389m), says a lottery official.

The numbers drawn on Saturday were 10, 13, 14, 22, 52 and Powerball 11.

The chances of winning were astronomically low at one in 175.2 million.

Terry Rich, a lottery official in Iowa, confirmed the ticket matching all six numbers was sold in Florida.

He said details were expected to be announced later by lottery officials in the 'Sunshine State' about the actual ticket sold.
