BREAKING NEWS: Five Jamaican Athletes Fail Drug Tests......LOL i knew it
| Asafa Powell's agent has revealed he failed a drugs test |
He said: "The process of the result management has commenced in accordance with the JADCO anti-doping rules.
"We cannot disclose any further information until the athletes have responded to notification of the 'A' sample."
Sprinter Asafa Powell was revealed to be one of the athletes after his management company confirmed he had failed a drugs test.
| Tyson Gay revealed he had tested positive for an unknown |
The 30-year-old has won gold medals in the 4x100m relay at the Olympics and World Championships and is a former world record holder.
Sources told Reuters that two of the athletes were sprinters while three competed in field events. They added that one of the athletes was a junior.
Last month, Jamaica's most successful female athlete Veronica Campbell-Brown tested positive for a diuretic, which can be used to mask the use of performancing-enhancing drugs.
The twice Olympic 200 metres champion has been suspended by the Jamaican Athletics Administrative Association pending the outcome of a disciplinary panel hearing.
It comes after former double sprint world champion Tyson Gay announced on Sunday that he had tested positive for a substance he could not identify and was withdrawing from next month's world championships in Moscow.
The American, who had the year's fastest 100 metre time of 9.75 seconds, said he was notified by the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) on Friday that his A sample from an out-of-competition test on May 16 had returned a positive.
He said: "I don't have a sabotage story. I don't have lies... I basically put my trust in someone and I was let down.
"I made a mistake."

'Voodoo Prostitution Ring': Police Arrest Six
A Nigerian gang forced women into street prostitution in Spain by burning them with irons and using voodoo rituals, according to police.
Detectives have arrested six Nigerian nationals - including the suspected woman ringleader - as part of an investigation launched last year after one of the prostitutes filed a complaint with the authorities.
"The control exercised over women was total, involving verbal threats as well as physical violence and various voodoo ceremonies to terrorise them," police said in a statement.
"The ring caused them serious injury through bites or by using an iron to cause second-degree burns."
The ring allegedly recruited women in Benin City, a run-down Nigerian port, whose husbands and fathers had died and who were struggling to raise their children.
They transported the women overland to Morocco and then smuggled them on small wooden boats into Spain where they were forced to work as street prostitutes in Barcelona and Malaga.
Spanish police have swooped several times in recent years on similar prostitution rings that used the threat of voodoo curses to frighten their victims into obedience.
Before leaving Nigeria, the rings often take their victims to shrines where they swear to pay their debts to the group and not to denounce them to the police.
The women leave fingernails, hair, underwear and other personal items at the shrines which they are told will give voodoo priests the power to harm them wherever they are in the world.

Woolwich Terror Murder Suspect is a Nigerian descent
Dozens of weapons - including a number of knives - and pools of blood could be seen on the ground in John Wilson Street, where a man said to be wearing a Help for Heroes T-shirt was attacked by two men.
Witnesses say the pair appeared to deliberately drive their car at the victim, before getting out with various bladed weapons and launching their attack.
Two suspected Muslim fanatics attacked the man in the street a short distance from the Royal Artillery Barracks after apparently knocking him down with their car.
Witnesses said they set about the soldier with a number of weapons, which appeared to include knives and a meat cleaver, while shouting the name of "Allah".
They apparently encouraged passers-by to video them. One of the alleged attackers was filmed wielding a bloodied meat cleaver, saying: "We must fight them as they fight us. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.
"I apologise that women have had to witness this today, but in our land our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your government, they don't care about you," he said.
One of the two terror suspects being held under armed guard at hospitals in London has been named by Sky sources as Michael Adebolajo.
Adebolajo is a 28-year-old Londoner of Nigerian descent.
"He was born in Lambeth, grew up in east London. There are still members of his family living in the area.
Oops I bet you didn't see this coming! Paris Hilton signs to Young Money
Love it or hate it (you probably hate it), Paris Hilton has signed with Cash Money Records, joining the likings of other rappers such as Drake, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Tyga, and more.
However, she “apparently” has a talent that these rappers don’t: the ability to make a house album.
